Stuff your face with these cookies that taste like a slightly crunchy peanut butter cup. They would be perfect for a Gremlins movie night! :)
Recipe: Chocolate Covered Peanut Butter Balls
Ingredients:
1/2 cup butter
2 cups peanut butter (creamy)
1 pound of powdered sugar
3 cups rice krispies
***Chocolate Shell:
4 ounces of a Hershey’s chocolate bar
6 ounces chocolate chips
2 ounces bar of baking wax
Steps:
1. Cream regular butter and peanut butter until completely smooth.
2. Gradually add all of your powdered sugar.
3. Fold in 3 cups of rice krispies.
4. Using a double boiler, melt your chocolate bar, chocolate chips, and baking wax until smooth.
5. Once the dipping chocolate is an even runny consistency, use a toothpick to completely submerge your peanut butter balls in the chocolate. Once coated, quickly place it back on the baking sheet. The heat from the chocolate can make the peanut butter balls lose shape and fall apart.
6. Fill the toothpick hole with either more chocolate, or pipe a small dot of royal icing into it.
7. Let the chocolate set and cool completely before serving. (You can speed the process up by refrigerating your completed peanut butter balls).
8. Enjoy!
